Our Enriching Community Life (ECL) Program provides a wide range of life experiences and activities that are available within the community. This program is funded by Community Mental Health and encourages community inclusion, greater independence and self-reliance, and increased self-esteem. Specific sessions are developed and offered according to participant needs and interests as identified in the Person-Centered Planning process.
The program is run on a semester basis but participants are welcome to join at anytime. The Fall Semester runs from October through the end of March and the Spring Semester is from April through the end of September. Services are offered Monday through Friday from 9am-3:30pm. Our Life Based Program offers community activities in the evenings and on weekends. This program has a monthly calendar that is distributed to individuals who are authorized for the service.
A catalog is distributed outlining the different class offerings. After reviewing the classes, participants sign up for their choices with their Support Coordinator. Some sessions include Bowling, Swimming, YMCA Fitness, Pottery, Art, Self Advocacy, Work Preparatory, Cooking, Theatre, Sign Language, Crafts, Computers and more.
We have a highly experienced and qualified staff along with a fleet of 20 vehicles available to provide services throughout St. Clair County. Bluewater Area Transit offers door to door service from home to program on a daily basis.
